Building off last issue, Savoy doesn’t take Tony’s rejection of his plan to work together well at all. This leads to some bloody consequences. I won’t spoil, but I will say a trope I hate is used here, and yet the writier in me says it’s okay in this instance, because at least this person was a character in their own right before this happened. Also, shit happens, and just because it happens to this particular character, doesn’t make it a trope. Still … am I a little uneasy about it? Yeah. That’s unavoidable.
But you knew Savoy was going to react badly to rejection, and this makes sense for him. He is, at the very least, a complete asshole.
The art is sharp, and there’s some great little jokes buried around. Look carefully. There’salso a great sight gag of an exploding thing, complete with the action movie cliché of people jumping away from the blast. You’ll have to imagine the slo motion, since it’s a comic book.
Out tomorrow, this is a sad but some inevitable chapter in the series.
